Sonam Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting spiritual growth, mindfulness, compassion and enlightenment through various initiatives, including Dharma TV Channel, Monastic School, Monastic College, Buddhist Teachings and Meditation Centers, Retreat Centers, Digital Library and Noble Enlightened Association . The Sonam Foundation is a dedicated non-profit organization founded by Venerable Khen Rinpoche Sonam Gyurme. With a clear vision to establish peace, happiness, freedom and enlightenment for everyone on Earth, our foundation is committed to fostering positive change through a multifaceted approach.
Our Mission
Our mission encompasses a broad range of activities designed to uplift individuals and communities.
We focus on:
Education: We believe that education is the cornerstone of personal and societal growth. Our foundation aim to provide quality educational resources and opportunities, especially to underprivileged communities. We support Venerable Khen Rinpoche Sonam Gyurme's dharma activities stared from two decades in Nepal and worldwide.
Venerable himself with the help of generous donors is running Rigzin Dechhen Chhoeling Chuglag Khang a practical monastic school where students learn various subjects, IT, graphic and video designing, media and so on.
He also run monastic college Rigzin Dongag Shedrub Chhoekhor Ling for monks based temporarily Pragati Marg, Jorpati-5, Gokarneswar, Kathmandu,Nepal.
And now planning to start International Noble College for all students of globe. Foundation also support other education projects.
Health: We support initiatives that enhance physical and mental well-being. By promoting holistic health practices and providing medical support, we strive to improve the quality of life for those in need. Foundation also focus to establish healing a traditional Buddhist medication center to serve needy people.
Retreats and Meditation: Our retreats and meditation programs offer individuals a chance to reconnect with themselves and find inner peace. Through guided sessions and serene environments, participants can explore mindfulness and personal growth.Sonam Foundation has started Tri-Yana Bodhi Meditation Center at Thansing, Kakani, Nuwakot District, Nepal.
Buddhist Teachings: We are dedicated to preserving and sharing the profound wisdom of Buddhist teachings. Our activities include educational workshops, lectures, and study groups that delve into the rich traditions and philosophies of Buddhism. For the last two decades Venerable Khen Rinpoche is running Buddhist Teaching & Meditation Center in Kathmandu, recently its main center is in Jorpati, Kathmandu,Nepal.

Buddhist Media: We recognize the power of media in spreading positive messages. Our efforts include producing and promoting Buddhist content across TV, social media, films, and documentaries, reaching a global audience with transformative insights and teachings. Sonam Foundation trying to support Dharma Television HD established by Venerable Khen Rinpoche in 2009. Main programs of Dharma TV are Talk shows, Global Home Retreat Campaign online meditation course, teachings, trainings,International Dharma Awards, Questions Of Wisdom, Dharma Tune music contest and Miss Bhrikuti Tara a women empowering beauty contest based on Buddhism.
